In an all CONCACAF encounter, Trinidad and Tobago drew 1:1 with visiting Jamaica at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Port of Spain. The two Caribbean rivals were playing the return leg of a set of two friendlies with the first game, in late March this year, ending in a 2:2 draw. Khaleem Hyland, who turned 19 years old the day before the game, opened the scoring for the Soca Warriors on the half-hour mark. Jamaica equalized in the final minute of the match with a penalty from Luton Shelton. "Passion, spirit and aggression is what both teams need to go into the World Cup qualifiers. We saw that kind of spirit today," said Jamaican national team coach Rene Simoes.
Honduras, meanwhile, defeated Haiti 3:1 in La Ceiba, Honduras with goals from Walter Martinez, David Suazo and Amado Guevara. Sandwiching their World Cup Qualifying home-and-away encounter with Puerto Rico (the Catrachos lead 4:0 going into the away game next Saturday), Honduras have now run their unbeaten streak to an impressive nine games. Marcorel Sapeor netted a consolation goal for Haiti who host Netherlands Antilles in the World Cup Qualifying campaign.
In a final tune-up game before their World Cup Qualifying match up with fellow Central American side El Salvador, Panama drew 0:0 with Chile. The game, played in the coastal city of Valparaiso, Chile was also the last friendly for the CONMEBOL country before their World Cup Qualifying contest against Bolivia.
