Better coordination to avoid conflicts between the confederations' nations championship, the CONCACAF Gold Cup and Copa America, as well as a variety of other subjects were broached with further discussions planned, Blazer said.
"It was very positive. We are moving forward on all subjects, and we hope to have a resolution very soon," Blazer said.
Blazer and Deluca both were in Zurich for a meeting of the general secretaries of the six regional confederations and FIFA general secretary Jerome Valcke. Tuesday's meeting was in addition and subsequent to the larger gathering.
CONCACAF teams have participated in South American events since the 1993 Copa America. Club teams from CONCACAF began participating in the Copa Libertadores in 1998.
