TOURNAMENT TIDBITS
Both of last year's finalists - two-time defending champion Monterrey and runner-up Santos - remain in contention for places in this season's two-leg final.
The United States has been represented in the CCL final only once - Real Salt Lake (2010/11). This season, it has three sides in the last eight and will look to outdo the Utah squad.
Xelaju of Guatemala and Costa Rica's Heredia will fly the flag for Central America, hoping to join Saprissa (2010/11) as the only teams from the region to ever reach the CCL semifinals.
Also, keep an eye on Tigres, the current table toppers in the Liga MX Clausura.
