CARSON, California -- The LA Galaxy announced Wednesday that the club has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with forward Robbie Keane.

In 2012, the Ireland international led the team with 16 goals in 28 regular season games, tallying six more during the postseason, as the 2012/13 CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinalist won a second consecutive Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup title. Additionally, he was named to the MLS Best XI for the first time.

The Galaxy will meet Costa Rica's Herediano in the Champions League quarterfinals on March 7 and 13.
