Another week of matches in the CONCACAF Champions League is in the books and the eight teams to reach the quarterfinals are already beginning to come into focus.

Standing out is Santos, with a perfect record with one match left after winning three of three. In Group 2, Herediano and Real Salt Lake are fighting for the top spot.

In Group 3, it appears that the Houston Dynamo will be the one to advance while in Group 4, the Seattle Sounders already have left Marathón and Caledonia in its wake. In Group 5, the Galaxy and Metapan seem to be set to decide the winner when they face off on October 25.

In Group 6, Tigres and Alajuelense remain in the hunt as both sides will face off in Monterrey on October 25. In Group 7, Monterrey and Municipal maintain hopes, while, finally, in Group 8 Xelaju and Chivas will face off for the top spot in Guadalajara in October 25.

Santos was especially impressive, beating Salvadoran champion Aguila 4-0 with a lineup made up of youngsters, including 19-year-old forward Jesus Escoboza.

The tournament has shown itself to be one where young players from the Mexican clubs gain international experience.

Additionally, the Champions League has exposed many to places and stadiums that they never imagined existed. For example, this week we had the opportunity to see the Estadio Juan Ramon Loubriel in Bayamon, home of the Puerto Rico Islanders, a stadium that is in every way equal to many stadiums in Mexico and the United States.

It's been nice to see CONCACAF paying special attention to the stadiums, especially not allowing stadiums that are not equipped for such important matches. CONCACAF President Jeffrey Webb said as much in an interview with Fox Sports.

The confederation will look to help the country and islands in order to help them improve their stadiums in order to begin to think about a Gold Cup held outside the United States in a country such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, etc.

In addition, he mentioned the possibility of assigning, like in the UEFA Champions League, a neutral venue for the CONCACAF Champions League final.

For now all that's left is to wait for the final weeks of the Group Stage, even though some groups seem to be all wrapped up.
