Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago
Caledonia AIA 1, North East Stars 3
In the 2012/13 Trinidad & Tobago Digicel Pro League opener for both, Caledonia AIA dropped a 3-1 decision to the North East Stars at Hasely Crawford Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, pre-season acquisition Cornell Glen fired the Stars into a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute. The 31-year-old forward raced in from the left, evaded a defender and fired past goalkeeper Glenroy Samuel.
Kerry Baptiste, another one of the many signings made by new head coach Angus Eve, made it 2-0 in the 67th minute directing a Kaydion Gabriel cross into the net.
Kareem Joseph halved the deficit six minutes later for Caledonia, converting a penalty kick.
The outstanding Gabriel completed the scoreline in the fourth minute of injury time, when he pounced on the rebound of a Baptiste attempt and blasted home without mistake.
