Cruz Azul, Champions League runner-up the past two seasons, will face Santos Laguna in one quarterfinal, while Monterrey will play Toluca in another. Major League Soccer rivals Real Salt Lake and Columbus will meet, with Central American sides Olimpia of Honduras playing Saprissa of Costa Rica in the last quarterfinal.

Group winners Salt Lake, Santos, Monterrey and Olimpia were assured of playing the second leg at home March 1-3 and were drawn against the four runners-up, with the only restriction being that they couldn't face the same team that it played in the Group Stage.

Cruz Azul, Columbus, Saprissa and Toluca will be home for the first leg February 22-24.

The semifinal pairings also pitted the Monterrey-Toluca winner against the Cruz Azul-Santos winner, while the survivor of the Salt Lake-Columbus quarterfinal will play either Olimpia or Saprissa.

Monterrey or Toluca will host the first leg of its semifinal against Santos or Cruz Azul March 15-17, with Salt Lake or Columbus being at home against Olimpia or Saprissa the same week.

Santos or Cruz Azul, and either Olimpia or Saprissa host the second leg of the semifinals April 5-7.

The results of the draw assured a Mexican team of reaching the final for a third straight year, which will host the first leg of the championship series April 19-21. The second leg will be either at Salt Lake, Columbus, Olimpia or Costa Rica April 26-28.
