DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - World Cup host Tahiti handed the United States its third loss in as many days, beating the Americans 4-3 on Thursday as both finished their stay at the Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup.
Andrew Feld twice equalized for the United States, but Teva Zaveroni put Tahiti ahead 3-2 with nine minutes remaining in the final period, and Naea Bennet added an insurance goal with two minutes left to secure the win. Oscar Reyes also scored with two minutes remaining to give the United States a late opportunity for a draw.
The two-time CONCACAF champions also lost to reigning World Cup champion Russia and the tournament host United Arab Emirates, leaving the event having been outscored 18-7.
