DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - The United States will face world champion Russia, host United Arab Emirates and 2013 World Cup host Tahiti when the Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup Dubai begins later this month.
The two-time CONCACAF champion will open the Group A schedule against Russia on October 30 at the emirate's Festival City development along Dubai Creek. Group B will consist of Brazil, Euro league champion Switzerland, Asian champion Japan and African side Nigeria.
This is the second year for the eight-team event, which Russia won in 2011 over Brazil in extra time.
The top two teams will advance to the semifinals on November 2 with the finals, championship and third-place match, a day later.
