MEXICO CITY - Mexico unveiled a 21-player roster on Thursday for its January 30 friendly against Denmark in Glendale, Arizona. The squad is composed completely of domestic-based players and is highlighted by the inclusion of veteran defenders Carlos Salcido of Tigres and Club America's Francisco Javier Rodriguez.
Two players - Tijuana goalkeeper Cirilo Saucedo and Raul Jimenez of Club America - will be looking to win their first caps. Jimenez, a 21-year-old forward, scored a combined four goals during the 2012 Mexican Apertura's regular season and playoffs. He also netted twice in the Eagles 4-0 Liga MX win over Atlante last Saturday for his first goals of the 2013 Clausura.
The team will convene on Sunday and travel to the United States one day later.
Mexico is preparing for its opening match in the final round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying on Feb. 6 against visiting Jamaica.
