SANTIAGO, Chile - Mexico's under-17 national team advanced to the final of the 11th Copa UC Sunday, getting past its counterpart from Chile 5-4 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw on Saturday at the Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo. The Mexicans will face Universidad Católica, which upended Paraguay by the same scoreline.

Mexico dominated much of the early going and went ahead in the 28th minute through Jaimes Ulysses.

Matías Ramírez leveled for Chile 14 minutes after the interval.

The Tricolor advanced to the semifinals by going a perfect 3-0-0 in group play, including a 2-1 win over Universidad Católica.
