SAN SALVADOR -- Alianza FC forward Sean Fraser has made history in El Salvador, as the first Jamaican to top a Central American scoring chart. Fraser's 12 strikes in 18 matches during the Apertura 2012 regular season tied him for best in the league with Isidro Metapan's Nicolas Muñoz. The Jamaican's scoring form helped Alianza finish second to Metapan in the regular-season table. Fraser and the Albos are now set to face third place FAS in a home-and-away semifinal starting this weekend. Fraser joined Alianza from fellow Salvadoran side Once Municipal, after completing the 2011 Apertura with the Canaries. He has previously turned out for Harbour View and Portmore United in Jamaica, as well as Miami FC and the Puerto Rico Islanders, making five 2009/10 CONCACAF Champions League appearances for the perennial Caribbean powerhouse. The 29-year-old veteran represented Jamaica in two youth World Cups: the 1999 U-17 World Cup in New Zealand and the 2001 U-20 World Cup in Argentina, playing all three group matches in each tournament. The Alianza No. 9 scored ten times from the run of play, twice with his head, and converted two penalty kicks.
