MEXICO CITY -- Mexico Under-20 head coach Sergio Almaguer is bringing a roster of 20 players to China for the 2012 Beijing Hyundai International Youth Football Tournament.
The team, which has been training at the Mexican Football Federation's High Performance Center, is departing for Asia on Wednesday and will return on September 12.
The selection includes seven players from the 2011 FIFA Under-17 World Cup title-winning side, each of whom started in Mexico's 2-0 triumph over Uruguay in the final. Atlas defender Antonio Briseño, who scored the opening goal in that game, is among the group.
Mexico will face North Korea on Friday, before meeting host China and France on September 9 and 11, respectively.
