INFORMATION: SAN SALVADOR - After one last training session at home, El Salvador travelled to the United States on Thursday for two friendly matches. Head coach Juan de Dios Castillo, who named a 23-player roster for the trip, arranged a recovery practice a day after most of his squad played in domestic league games.
The Cuscatlecos will face Guatemala in Carson, California, on August 11, before meeting Jamaica four days later in Washington, D.C., at RFK Stadium.
Dagoberto Portillo, the experienced national team goalkeeper, said the friendlies against Guatemala and Jamaica "will bring us closer to what it means to play against Costa Rica and Guyana in the (World Cup) qualifiers, so it is important that we have these games to prepare."
El Salvador will be looking to improve on its record of one win, two draws and three losses in six previous internationals this year.
