MEXICO CITY - Mexico named an 18-man roster on Thursday for its Aug. 15 friendly against the United States at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
Manchester United's Javier Hernandez is one of five European-based players and the entire panel is expected to report to the Mexican Football Federation's High Performance Center for training on Sunday.
Mexico's selection also consists of eight players on clubs participating in this year's CONCACAF Champions League, including Angel Reyna, who scored three goals in Monterrey's 5-0 tournament-opening win over Chorrillo FC of Panama on July 31.
Head coach Jose Manuel de la Torre will be looking to lead his team to a sixth consecutive victory.In its last outing, Mexico defeated host El Salvador 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier on goals from Jesus Zavala and Hector Moreno.
