GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands -- CONCACAF President, Jeffrey Webb, expressed his condolences over the death of Bodden Town Football Club footballer Gerome Graham, who passed away on 12 June 2012.
"It is with deep sadness and regret that I express my sincerest condolences to the family of Gerome Graham," said Webb. "Gerome was a valued member of the Bodden Town Football Club and the Cayman Islands National Team and will be deeply missed."
The 20-year-old midfielder collapsed during what was described as a "kick around" at the G. Haig Bodden football field. His team mates tried to resuscitate him, but Graham was pronounced dead at the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town.
"I will remember him as a very respectful young man that brought joy and laughter to those around him," continued Webb. "During this difficult time, please keep the family in our prayers."
Graham played for Bodden Town in the 2011 Caribbean Football Union Club Championship. He appeared in both legs of a first round series against Puerto Rico's River Plate.
