PANAMA CITY, Panama -- The board of Tauro FC announced Friday that it has accepted the resignation of head coach Rolando Palma and that former Panama under-17 national team head coach Jorge Dely Valdes will be his replacement.

Tauro has only one point from its opening three games in the 2014 Panamanian Apertura and lost its 2014/15 CONCACAF Champions League opener at home to Jamaica’s Waterhouse FC, 2-1, on Thursday.

The 47-year-old Dely Valdes, a former Panama national team star, had guided the Canaleros to appearances in the 2011 and 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

He will be presented to the media on Saturday.
