    Position based in: CONCACAF Headquarters, Miami Beach, FL

    We are “The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football” and one of six continental confederations of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). CONCACAF serves as the governing body of football in this part of the world. It is composed of 41 national associations united by the passion for football, from Canada in the north to Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana in the south. 

    CONCACAF is committed to develop, promote and manage football throughout the region.  

    POSITION PURPOSE: Lead corporate governance resource. Works closely with the Legal and General Secretariat teams on communications and to plan and manage events and activities that ensure director engagement and successful performance of their governance responsibilities. Ensure that appropriate notices have been mailed and necessary materials for every board and Committee meeting are provided on a timely basis.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • With oversight from the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, manages preparations for and execution of all board meetings, member association congresses and committee meetings and events
    • Attend board meetings and committee meetings and preparing minutes
    • Overseeing coordination of meetings and event logistics
    • Managing all technology necessary to support meetings, including arranging for real time translation
    • Maintains committee information including contact information, biographies, reference manuals, training log
    • Leads legal department team in fulfilling corporate secretary and committee responsibilities

    SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS: (Secondary to required function) 

    In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

    • Support the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer in guiding the business to implement controls to ensure compliance with procedures, regulatory requirements, and other identified risks 
    • Engage with the business to partner in the development of remediation plans to address self-identified gaps or issues, including developing policies, procedures and training
    • Systematically track and report progress of remediation of issues
    • Collect, review and approve evidence of remediation of issues

    SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

    The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 2-5 years relevant experience in an in-house legal department and/or law firm
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Ability to demonstrate professional, appropriate responses in confidential situations
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Solid project management skills
    • Ability to operate independently with limited attorney supervision
    • Ideal candidate is bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
    • Candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S.

    Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules including game nights to reflect the business needs of the company.
