MEXICO CITY - Overage selections Jesus Corona of Cruz Azul, Tigres defender Carlos Salcido and Santos forward Oribe Peralta led Mexico manager Luis Fernando Tena's 18-man roster for the London Olympics.

As previously reported, 24-year-old Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, who initially expressed interest, was not released by his team Manchester United and under-23 players Jonathan Dos Santos of FC Barcelona and Carlos Vela of Arsenal asked not to be considered to remain with their club sides, the Mexican federation said on its website.

Dos Santos' brother, Giovani Dos Santos of Tottenham, was one of three forwards chosen along with Raúl Jímenez of America and Peralta. Giovani Dos Santos was the only player not with a Mexican club.

The players will gather on June 27 before facing promoted side Leon on July 5. It will travel to Spain four days later, train in Marbella and then play the British Olympic team in the Spanish city on July 15, and Spain in Cadiz three days later.
