    The 2014 FIFA World Cup draw has produced three intriguing opponents for Costa Rica next year in Brazil.  CONCACAF.com takes a look at the current Central American champion.

    • Costa Rica and Uruguay met in a two-legged playoff for a place at the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals.  In the first leg, Diego Lugano scored in the 21st minute to give Uruguay a 1-0 win on the road.  The return match ended in a 1-1 draw.  Sebastian Abreu gave the Uruguayans a 70th minute lead, while Walter Centeno equalized for the visitors four minutes later.
