    With SCCL looming, Club Tijuana begins 2018 prep

    TIJUANA, Mexico – Despite its Liga MX Apertura campaign ending slightly more than two weeks ago, Club Tijuana returned to work Monday in preparation for next year’s challenges.

    Not only will the Xolos have the 2018 Clausura on their minds, but there’s also matter of the 2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) to address.

    Club Tijuana will be competing in the SCCL for the second time and first since the 2013/14 edition, when it advanced to the semifinals before falling to Cruz Azul, 2-1 on aggregate, and compiling an overall record of 5W-1D-2L.

    After going through physical testing, the squad is expected to start on-field training Tuesday.

    The Xolos finished 11th in the Apertura, posting a 6-3-8 mark, four points off the playoff pace.
