Williams heads Jamaica squad for Saudi Arabia test

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica head coach Theodore Whitmore named Friday a 20-man roster for an international friendly on October 8 at Saudi Arabia in Riyadh.

The squad is split evenly between locally- and foreign-based players, led by Charleston Battery forward Romario Williams, who is the third top scorer in the USA’s USL with 15 goals. The 23-year-old forward scored two goals in the Jamaicans’ run to the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup final.

Also earning a call-up is defender Damion Lowe, who has made one appearance since for IK Start since joining the Norwegian second-division side.

Jamaica is unbeaten in six of its last eight games.
