Pachuca picked up a point in a 0-0 draw versus Puebla in Liga MX action, while Vancouver Whitecaps FC secured its first victory of the MLS season by doubling up the Los Angeles Galaxy, 4-2. CONCACAF.com takes a look at the weekend action involving the 2016/17 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League semifinalists.

    Pachuca 0, Puebla 0
Four days before its SCCL semifinal, second leg against visiting FC Dallas, Pachuca (5W-3D-3L) returned from the FIFA international break with a 0-0 draw at home against Puebla. It marked the fifth clean sheet kept this season by the Tuzos’ defense. Attacker Hirving Lozano, the 2016/17 SCCL’s top scorer with six goals, returned from a foot injury and played the full 90 minutes.

    Tigres 0, Leon 1
Luck was not on Tigres’ side in its last match before traveling north to face Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Wednesday. UANL (3W-3D-5L) fell 1-0 to visiting Leon, ending its four-match unbeaten streak in Liga MX play. Elias Hernandez scored the game’s only goal in the 66th minute as Leon won for the first time in nine outings. Tigres had posted shutouts in its previous three Clausura matches.

Vancouver Whitecaps 4, Los Angeles Galaxy 2
Vancouver Whitecaps FC (1W-1D-2L) secured its first victory of the 2017 MLS season thanks to a second-half comeback that powered a 4-2 win over the visiting LA Galaxy on Saturday. Cristian Techera gave Whitecaps FC a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute, but by the hour mark the host found itself trailing 2-1. In an instant, however, went ahead 3-2 as Fredy Montero equalized in the 66th minute and, one minute later, Matias Laba struck for the go-ahead goal. For good measure Laba added an insurance tally with three minutes remaining in normal time.

FC Dallas’ weekend match v the Colorado Rapids was rescheduled for October 7.
