SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – The United States (2W-0D-1L, 6 points) earned a spot in the 2017 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship’s classification stage with a 4-1 win over St. Kitts & Nevis (0-0-3, 0) on Friday at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa.

With the result, the Americans finished second in Group B, three points behind Panama (3-0-0, 9), which defeated Haiti, 3-1, earlier in the day to maintain a perfect record.

Sebastian Saucedo led the way with two goals, both coming in the latter stages of the first half to make it 4-0 before the break.

His first came in the 35th minute, when Jon Lewis poked the ball away from St. Kitts & Nevis defender Javier Sutton in the direction of Saucedo, who first-timed past goalkeeper Nathan Lescott from 24-yards out.

Six minutes later, the Real Salt Lake midfielder right-footed a free kick from 27-yards into the lower right corner of the net.

The in-form Brooks Lennon gave the U.S. a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute, when he slammed Jeremy Eboisse’s cross from the left side of the box into the back of the net from four yards.  It was Lennon’s fourth goal in his last two games.

Lewis doubled the advantage off a fortuitous bounce.  Lennon sent a right-sided corner kick along the ground to the top of the box for Eryk Williamson, who hit it towards the top of goal box.  Justen Glad, with his back to the goal, appeared to get a touch on ball, which fell for Lewis to stroke home from five-yards out.

St. Kitts & Nevis capitalized on an errant backpass to get on the scoreboard in the 77th minute.  From the right-back position, Glad sent a bouncing ball to goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski.  Romario Martin raced in and beat the custodian for possession, finishing easily.
