CHICAGO – Following approval from CONCACAF, United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann added Greg Garza to the team’s 2015 Gold Cup roster on Thursday.

The 23-year-old defender is a replacement for injured Houston Dynamo midfielder Brad Davis.

Garza, who plays in Mexico and was recently loaned from Club Tijuana to Atlas, has seven career caps. He made his international debut as a substitute in the Americans’ 1-0 win at the Czech Republic on September 3, 2014.

The U.S. opens defense of its Gold Cup title against Honduras on July 7 in Frisco, Texas.
