TIJUANA, Mexico – Two-time Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (SCCL) champion Pablo Aguilar is back with Club Tijuana.

On Wednesday, the Xolos announced the Paraguayan’s acquisition from Club America during the Liga MX draft. Also arriving on-loan is defender Omar Mendoza, who spent the previous four years with Cruz Azul.

For Aguilar, the move marks a return to the club with which he won his first Mexican league championship. The 30-year-old was with Club Tijuana from 2012-13 and was a member of the 2012 Apertura title-winning team, scoring a goal in Club Tijuana’s 4-1 aggregate triumph over Toluca in the final.

Aguilar also enjoyed success with Club America, claiming one Liga MX crown (2014 Apertura) and a pair of SCCL winners’ medals (2014/15, 2015/16). In all, the defender has featured in 15 career SCCL matches, scoring two goals.

As for Mendoza, the 29-year-old scored one goal in 66 games with Cruz Azul.
