PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago – The Trinidad & Tobago national beach soccer team will open a ten-day training camp in Plymouth, Tobago, on Saturday as it continues preparations for next month’s CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship.

Under United States-born head coach Benny Astorga, the squad will be joined by several European stars.

“So far preparations have been nothing short of amazing,” Astorga told TTFA Media. “We have received everything we requested from the TTFA to ensure that the team has the best possible preparations.

“We are really looking forward to this training camp in Tobago because it will afford us the opportunity to play some games against some of the top beach soccer players in the world today and also they will be passing on their knowledge to us during this period.”

Among the European players making the trip are Ramiro Figueiras Amarelle, captain of the FC Barcelona beach soccer team; Spain international Llorenc Gomez Leon; and Italy international Dario Ramacciotti.

They have been tabbed to provide match and situational training throughout a gathering that will run until February 5. Afterwards, T&T will head to Barbados for a warm-up tournament (February 10-12), before traveling to Guadeloupe for a five-day camp starting February 13.

T&T will open its CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship schedule against Antigua & Barbuda on February 20.
