    Tauro acquires MF Villarreal from Chorrillo FC

    PANAMA CITY, Panama – Tauro FC announced Thursday that it has secured the services of midfielder Oscar Villarreal on a one-year loan from fellow Panamanian side Chorillo FC.

    Villarreal competed in seven games during the Fiebre Amarilla’s run to the 2017 Panamanian Apertura title.  He also played in each of Chorrillo’s four games in the 2017 Scotiabank CONCACAF League, assisting on Guillermo Sierra’s goal in a 1-0 win over visiting Honduras Progreso in a Round of 16, first-leg encounter.

    The 23-year-old has earned two caps for Panama, both in the 2017 Copa Centroamericana (2-1 win v Nicaragua, 1-0 win v El Salvador).

    Tauro will open play in the 2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League against Round of 16 opponent FC Dallas (1st leg: February 21, home; 2nd leg: February 28, away).
