    Surinam's Intermeongetapoe earns spot into CFU Qualifying Semifinals

    Intermeongetapoe (SUR) earned a spot into the Semifinal Round of Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Qualifying for the 2005 CONCACAF Champions' Cup after eliminating Juventus de Saint-Martin (SXM) 3:1 on aggregate in the First Round Series A.

    After winning the first-leg 2:0 in Paramaribo, Surinam last week, Intermeongetapoe played the host Juventus de Saint-Martin to a 1:1 draw in the second-leg at Alberic Richard Stadium in Saint-Martin on Wednesday.

    Junior Cherubin gave Juventus de Saint-Martin a 1:0 lead with a goal in the 40th minute of the first half, but Marlon Bron got the equaliser for Intermeongetapoe with 12 minutes remaining.

    Intermeongetapoe will meet the winner of the Series C between Harbour View (JAM) and Ideal Football Club (MSR) in the CFU Semifinal Round Qualification.

    The winner of the CFU Qualifying tournament will progress to the 2005 CONCACAF Champions' Cup.

    The CONCACAF Champions' Cup is the longest running international club competition in the region and has crowned the champion club of the Confederation since its inception in 1962.
