CHICAGO -- Birmingham City defender Jonathan Spector was called on Sunday into the United States’ training camp in advance of its friendly against Ukraine on March 5 in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The move comes a day after an announcement that Michael Bradley, Mix Diskerud and Tim Ream had been withdrawn from the roster.

Bradley will stay behind to receive treatment for a minor issue in order to be ready for the start of the Major League Soccer season. Diskerud is returning to full fitness following a right hip injury suffered 10 days ago, while Ream was excused for personal reasons.

The team will train Monday in Frankfurt, Germany, before departing the following day.

Spector, who can play a variety of positions on the back line, has not appeared in a full international since the U.S. defeated host Italy 1-0 on February 29, 2012, in Genoa.
