TOLUCA, Mexico – Match officials participating in the Program of Refereeing Excellence (PORE) in Mexico have been assigned to work six domestic matches this weekend.

These designations will conclude the first stage of the initiative, a collaboration between CONCACAF and the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol, which gives 13 top national-level referees an opportunity to be trained over an eight-week period by professional Mexican referees and FIFA instructors.

The program consists of two four-week sessions: the Introductory Course, which ends February 28, and the Certification Course, which will take place September-October 2017.

The referees have received top-level instruction from experts, including David Elleray, a former English Premier League referee and technical director of the International Football Association Board; Rodolfo Sibrian, FIFA Instructor; and Fernando Tresaco, Director of the FIFA RAP program.
