    Panama calls in 28 players for training

    PANAMA CITY, Panama – Panama head coach Hernan Dario Gomez on Friday called in 28 domestic-based players for training on July 14 in advance of friendlies next month at Peru (August 6) and home to Cuba (August 20).

    The Colombian extended invitations to seven members of the country’s 2014 CONCACAF Champions League representatives, Tauro FC and Chorrillo FC, including 22-year-old Richard Dixon.  During Panama’s run to the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup final, the Chorrillo defender made one appearance.

    The Canaleros are preparing for September’s Central American Cup, the region’s championship for national teams that doubles as a qualifying competition for the Gold Cup.
