PACHUCA, Mexico – Pachuca head coach Diego Alonso is confident that the goals will start flowing for his side.

In two domestic matches since the Tuzos defeated FC Dallas, 3-1, in the 2016/17 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League semifinal, second leg on April 4, they have been shutout twice. A 1-0 loss at Santos on Sunday was followed by Wednesday’s scoreless draw against visiting Morelia, extending their goalless streak in Liga MX Clausura play to four matches.

“The team continues creating,” said Alonso. “We are lack the finishing, but we are looking for many ways to create. We have to continue insisting.”

Despite Wednesday being Pachuca’s fourth match in 12 days -- with another five on the schedule in the coming two weeks – the 41-year-old Uruguayan believes that the squad is physically equipped to manage the rigors of two competitions.

“I see them well,” he commented about the players. “They do not feel exhausted, but they have to pace themselves because we are going to have an impressive quantity of games.”

Up next for the Tuzos is a Saturday clash with visiting Guadalajara, before the first leg of the SCCL final on April 18 at Tigres.

“More than thinking only on Chivas, we have to think about what we are playing for on Tuesday,” concluded Alonso.
