    Northern United ties SV Victory Boys in first-leg of CFU Series 4

    Northern United (LCA) tied the host SV Victory Boys (ANT) 1:1 in the first-leg of the Quarterfinal Series 4 of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Qualification to the 2006 CONCACAF Champions' Cup at the Stadion Ergilio Hato in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles on Friday.

    The crowd of 3,000 saw SV Victory Boys take a 1:0 lead with a goal by Trevis Privania in the 19th minute of the first half.

    Kenwen McPhee leveled the score for Northern United in the 59th minute of the second half for the 1:1 final. The return-leg of the CFU Series 4 will take place in St. Lucia on 29 October.

    Another CFU Quarterfinal second-leg will take place next week in the Netherlands Antilles as Bassa FC (ATG) visits SV Centro Social Deportivo Barber (ANT) on 26 October, with the Series 2 tied at 1:1.

    The CFU Semifinal Series encounters will take place in November with the Caribbean's champion club to be crowned through a final home-and-away series in December.

    The Caribbean champion will join two clubs each from Mexico and USA, along with three Central American teams, in the CONCACAF Champions' Cup next year with the winner of that event taking on the best of the World in the 2006 FIFA Club World Championship.
