COUVA, Trinidad & Tobago – Trinidad & Tobago staged a furious late rally to collect a 2-2 draw with visiting Grenada in an international friendly on Saturday at Ato Boldon Stadium.

The host returned to the pitch for the first time it beat the United States, 2-1, in the last game of CONCACAF qualifying for 2018 FIFA World Cup on October 10, 2017 -- at the same venue – and ending the Americans’ hopes of booking a ticket to Russia.

After Grenada took a 2-0 lead on goals by Shandon Baptiste (48’) and Ricky Modeste (71’), the Soca Warriors got on the scoreboard with two minutes remaining in normal time.

Jamille Boatswain halved the deficit by racing onto a Curtis Gonzales feed, before beating goalkeeper Jason Belfon.

Then, in the second minute of stoppage time, Trinidad completed the comeback as Gonzales found Kevin Molino for an emphatic finish.

It was the sides’ second meeting this year, with Grenada hosting another 2-2 stalemate on April 27.
