    Mexico and Bargas tie 3-3 in futsal friendly

    BARGAS, Spain -- Mexico's national futsal team opened its five-game tour of Spain with a 3-3 draw on Thursday against CFS Bargas at the Polideportivo Municipal El Balcón.

    Damian Punal opened the scoring for the host in the seventh minute, before Angel David Rodriguez (11') and Victor Omar Quiroz (16') netted to give the Tricolores a 2-1 halftime advantage.

    In the second half, Bargas leveled with a tally from Sergio Garcia (25'), however, three minutes later Morgan Plata once again put Mexico ahead.

    After the Spanish second-division side had its double-penalty kick saved by goalkeeper Miguel Angel Estrada, Raul Nieto equalized in the 39th minute to the delight of the home supporters.

    Mexico, under the direction of head coach Ramon Raya, is back in action on Sunday against Inter Movistar, and will close out against Navagalamella FS (Oct. 22), Escuela Javier Limones FS (Oct. 23) and Brihuega FS (Oct. 24).

    The Tricolores will make their first appearance in a FIFA Futsal World Cup next month in Thailand, facing Group D opponents Argentina, Australia and Italy in the opening round.
