    Jamaica win, join T&T in final round of FC Women's U-19 qualifying

    Jamaica knocked off the Bahamas 11:0 at Prisons Oval in Spanish Town, Jamaica Thursday to advance to the final round of the FC U-19 Women's Qualifying Tournament.

    Win the win, the home side clinched one of the three Caribbean berths available for the final FC qualifying tournament. Trinidad & Tobago, who defeated Grenada 17:0 on Thursday, were competing in the group as a guest team having assured themselves a place in the final round as the host nation.

    Jamaica used seven first-half goals to open an early lead and never looked back. Sheree Morrow opened the scoring with her first of three goals in the fourth minute. She added her other two in the 13th and 45th minutes. Hishamer Falconer, Kim Dunn, Denese Duncan and Jodi-Ann McGregor also contributed goals in the first half of play.

    In the second half, Kaena Shae Thomas scored two while Duncan and Fern Maxwell tallied single goals for the final margin.

    T&T rode the coattails of Akhela Mollon's nine goals to pull away with the convincing victory. Mollan found the net in minutes 28, 35, 45, 58, 63, 66, 75, 81 and 89.

    Two of Mollan's team-mates, Maylee Atting-Johnson and Mauricia Nicholson recorded three goals while Tasha St. Louis and Shadeeka Mendez each scored once as T&T erupted for 12 goals in the second half.

    The winners meet Saturday for the group title, while Bahamas and Grenada will face off looking for their first goals.
