Jamaica & Antigua & Barbuda secure wins in Group C

Match day 2 in Group C of Caribbean qualifying for the CONCAFA Women's U20 event saw Antigua & Barbuda defeat Bahamas and Jamaica win against the hosts, St Kitts & Nevis.

In their opening Group C encounter, Antigua & Barbuda played a Bahamas team coming off a 5:0 victory over St Kitts & Nevis in their own opening game a few days before. An early goal for Ganace Colbourne on 3 minutes was followed by further first half strikes by Karen Warner (29') and a second for Colbourne (38') to give Antigua & Barbuda a 3:0 half time lead.

Britney Jacobs made it 4:0 on 55 minutes before Talitha Wood converted a 70th minute penalty giving Bahamas a consolation goal for a final score of 4:1.

In Wednesday's second game Jamaica inflicted a 7:0 defeat on Group C hosts, St Kitts & Nevis. A first half brace of goals for Shanique Mitchell (2', 22') and a goal for Vanessa Reid (34') gave Jamaica a 3:0 half time lead. Two more strikes for Reid in the second half (46', 51') completed her hatrick and a goal each for Yolanda Hamilton (64') and Kimmia Parker (86') left Jamaica with a 7:0 victory.

Group C now sees Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas and Jamaica all level with one victory and three points each, but with Bahamas having played two games already.

The next games in Group C will see Antigua & Barbuda line-up against St Kitts & Nevis on 30 September while the Bahamas play their third and final Group C game against Jamaica on the same date.
