    Honduras to face Venezuela in friendly

    TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras – Honduras will host Venezuela rather than Tunisia in a pre-World Cup friendly on March 5, the Federación Nacional Autónoma de Fútbol de Honduras confirmed through its website on Monday.

    The game will be played at the Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula.

    According to FIFA records, the sides have squared off on eight previous occasions with the Venezuelans holding the advantage in wins, 4-2.

    In their last meeting on August 10, 2011, the Catrachos came away with a 2-0 victory at a sold-out Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Carlo Costly struck for both goals in 57th and 68th minutes.

    The Hondurans are unbeaten in five of their last six internationals.
