    Honduras progress to Netherlands 2005; Canada wins CONCACAF U-20 Group B Crown

    Honduras progress to the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship after defeating Mexico 2:0 in the last match for the CONCACAF Under-20 Final Round Group B on Sunday in the Estadio Francisco Morazan in San Pedro Sula, while in the other encounter Canada won the group crown with a 1:0 victory over Jamaica.

    Angel Nolazco and Cesar Guity scored in the 77th and 89th minutes, respectively, to lead Honduras (2-1-0, 6 Points) to their first-ever CONCACAF U-20 Qualifying win over Mexico (1-2-0, 3 Points).

    Honduras joins Canada (3-0-0, 9 Points) after they claimed the CONCACAF Group B crown with a win over Jamaica (0-3-0, 0 Points). Ryan Gyaki scored his fourth goal of the event for the maple leafs in the 74th minutes of the second half over the reggae boyz.

    Canada, Honduras, Panama and USA will be the CONCACAF Representatives at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands.

    From 1962 - 1996, CONCACAF staged 16 Under-20 Tournaments with a winner being crowned in each. Eleven of the CONCACAF tournaments (1976 - 1996) doubled as qualifiers to the FIFA World Youth Championships. In 1998, the U-20 CONCACAF event became a Final Round Qualification consisting of two groups of four, each in a different venue, with the top two teams from each group progressing to the FIFA World Youth Championship.
