    Herediano's Cubero undergoes foot surgery

    HEREDIA, Costa Rica - Costa Rican side Herediano announced that midfielder Jose Miguel Cubero underwent surgery on Wednesday for a fractured fifth metatarsal on his right foot.

    The 25-year-old suffered the injury in Saturday's second leg of the Costa Rican Torneo Invierno final against Alajuelense.

    Dr. Esteban Campos called the operation a success and that Cubero's estimated recovery time would be two months.

    Herediano is scheduled to face the LA Galaxy in the quarterfinals of the 2012/13 CONCACAF Champions Cup on March 7 and 13.
