SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Canada secured the final berth in the 2016 CONCACAF Futsal Championship (CFC) with a 5-3 win over the United States on Thursday at BN Arena.
The Canadians captured the North American qualifying playoff series 9-7 on aggregate and will participate in the CFC for the second time. The U.S. failed to reach the finals for the first-ever time after appearing in each of the previous five editions.

In the 15th minute, defender Adriano Dos Santos leveled at 1-1 for the USA, which did not score again until down four goals. Tony Donatelli (38’) and Daniel Mattos (39’) each found the back of the net in a bid to spur a late rally.
