MEXICO CITY – The final-four field at the 2016 Scotiabank CONCACAF Under-13 Champions League was settled Wednesday, when three of the four quarterfinals were decided by one goal or fewer at the Universidad Intercontinental.
One match was settled on penalty kicks as Alajuelense outlasted Buhos de Hermosillo, 4-2, following a scoreless draw. Comunicaciones earned the day’s largest margin of victory, posting a 2-0 win over San Juan Jabloteh.
A pair of matches finished at 1-0 as Sporting Kansas City and Santa Ana prevailed over Herediano and the Impact de Montreal, respectively.
The semifinals will be contested Friday -- also at the Universidad Intercontinental – with Central America providing three of the participants.
