    Former Grenada int’l Roberts ponders retirement

    LONDON -- Almost 14 months after suffering a hip injury, the return of former Grenada international Jason Roberts to the field remains in question.

    Surgery and rehabilitative efforts have not aided the striker in a bid to pull on, once again, the jersey of English Championship League club Reading FC.

    “I’ve had six or seven opportunities to try and come back and we’ve not made it through two or three training sessions,” Roberts was quoted as saying recently.  “When you go through something like this at my age you start to really question how much longer you can go.”

    The 36-year-old, who scored seven goals in 10 internationals for the Spice Boyz, is expected to make an announcement on his future next week.
