    El Salvador to host Guatemala in women’s friendly

    SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – With the start of 2015 Women’s World Cup Qualifying quickly approaching, El Salvador announced Thursday that it will host Guatemala in an international friendly on May 10 at the Salvadoran Football Federation sports complex.

    Both sides are preparing for the Central American qualifying tournament that will be played entirely at Guatemala City’s Estadio Mateo Flores, May 20-24, 2014.  The Salvadorans are in Group B with Costa Rica and Nicaragua, while Guatemala will square off against Group A opponents Belize, Honduras and Panama.  The group winners will advance to the CONCACAF finals later this year.

    El Salvador selected 25 players for the match, including eight under the age of 20.
