SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – El Salvador will host an international match for the first time in nearly two years, when it welcomes the Dominican Republic to the Estadio Cuscatlan for a friendly on August 30, the Salvadoran Football Federation announced Monday.
The game is part of the Cuscatlecos’ preparations for the 2014 Copa Centroamericana, which will be played September 3-13 in the United States.
It will be the third all-time meeting between the sides, which faced off twice during qualifying for Brazil 2014. El Salvador won both of those encounters by single-goal margins (home: 3-2; away: 2-1).
Costa Rica was the last team to visit the country, posting a 1-0 win on October 12, 2012, in another World Cup qualifier.
