    El Salvador to convene national team, U23 camp

    SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – With an eye on World Cup Qualifying, the CONCACAF Gold Cup and Olympic qualifying in Central America, the Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol announced Friday that 27 players have been called in for a combined national team/under-23 mini-camp.

     The gathering, which will be led by national team head coach Albert Roca, will start on Monday and run through Thursday.

     Only players not expected to participate in the Salvadoran first-division semifinals were among those receiving an invitation.

     El Salvador will face St. Kitts & Nevis in the second round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on June 11 (away) and June 16 (home).
