El Salvador hosts FIFA course for technical development directors

Attendees to the FIFA course for technical development directors, held in El Salvador from July 4-8, gathered for a group photo.

 

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador -- With the objective of expanding their knowledge base, directors of technical development from Spanish-speaking countries throughout CONCACAF recently attended a course hosted by FIFA in El Salvador.

The workshop -- held from July 4-8 -- focused on providing participants with an overview of the responsibilities required of the position, while offering perspectives on how to perform duties more effectively. Areas prompting specific attention included analysis of players, coaches and matches; performance evaluation of technical development directors; as well as a summary of technical programs offered by FIFA and CONCACAF.

In addition to presentations at the Courtyard San Salvador hotel, practical sessions were held at the Estadio Las Delicias in Santa Tecla and the Federación Salvadoreña de Fútbol’s headquarters.

Representatives were in attendance from the following Member Associations: Belize, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. 

Those individuals sharing their expertise during the course were:  

  • FIFA Technical Development Officer, Southwest Caribbean, Rodrigo Kenton
  • FIFA Technical Development Officer, CONMEBOL, Daniel Bañales
  • FIFA Instructor, Oscar Hamada
  • FIFA Development Programmes Coordinator, Sandra Avila
  • FIFA Development Officer, Northwest Caribbean, Angenie Kanhai
  • CONCACAF Director of Development, Hugo Salcedo.

The event demonstrated the commitment of CONCACAF and FIFA to education across multiple platforms in order to further develop the game.
