    Dominican Republic & Puerto Rico reach quadrangular finale

    The Dominican Republic and the host Puerto Rico will play in the International Under-20 Quadrangular Tournament "Festival Olímpico de Fútbol" Final on Monday, 25 July, at the Estadio del Complejo Deportivo Roberto Clemente in the city of Carolina.

    The Dominican Republic began the four-team event on 22 July in Carolina with a 2:0 win over Puerto Rico's U-15 squad, who replaced St. Vincent & The Grenadines' U-20 team, while the boricuas topped the US Virgin Islands 8:1.

    The next day (23 July), Puerto Rico defeated the U-15 team 3:1, while the Dominican Republic topped the US Virgin Islands by the same score (3:1).

    The group play ended on 24 July at the Estadio del Complejo Deportivo Roberto Clemente with US Virgin Islands playing Puerto Rico's U-15 squad to a 2:2 tie, while the boricuas posted a 5:1 victory over the dominicanos.

    The four-team tournament concludes on Monday in Carolina when US Virgin Islands meets Puerto Rico's U-15 team in the third-place match at 15:00 and then Puerto Rico takes on Dominican Republic at 17:00.

    Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands are in early preparations for the football competition at the Central American & Caribbean Games that will take place in Cartagena, Colombia next year.
