    Dominican Republic departs for Indonesia friendly

    SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic -- The Dominican Republic traveled on Sunday to Indonesia for an international friendly against the host nation on May 15 at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta City.

    Head coach Domingo Clemente Hernandez chose a 17-man roster comprised of nine domestic- and eight foreign-based players.

    The selection includes 23-year-old forward Erick Ozuna, who led the Dominican Republic in scoring during 2014 World Cup Qualifying, netting five goals in six games.

    The match against Indonesia is part of the team’s preparations for first-round play in the 2014 Caribbean Cup, which will begin in early September.  The Dominicans are in Group 5 with Antigua & Barbuda, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Anguilla.
